The Clipper Ship Foundation was founded in 1979 by David Parmely Weatherhead.  The foundation makes grants to federally tax-qualified nonprofit organizations offering human services to individuals living in Greater Boston (cities and towns lying on or within Route 128) and the cities of Lawrence and Brockton.  Special consideration will also be given to emergency disaster situations, worldwide. Our next deadline for submissions will be Friday, May 8th. Proposals can be mailed or delivered in person, but must be received by 5 p.m. The Foundation does not accept proposals via email.

Please note: Beginning in 2009, we will no longer accept incomplete proposals. If we do receive a submission that is missing any of the required supporting documents, we will send email notification of ineligibility. For a complete list of specific requirements, please see "How to Apply" on this website. We encourage applicants to call with any questions in advance of submission
