With the Massachusetts state election behind us and a new year before us, the Schott Foundation sees a unique opportunity to bring together diverse philanthropic organizations invested in children, youth, education and social justice to build connections and bridges with education justice advocates who are seeking to advance education equity in Massachusetts.
We will hear from advocates representing students, community and labor groups about their efforts to build local and state-wide alliances for public education that are driven by community voice. They will share key learnings from their grassroots organizing efforts to defeat the Question 2 ballot initiative and discuss what’s next in their work to ensure that every child in Massachusetts has an opportunity to learn.
