The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for developing and executing a broad-based communications strategy to promote the District and its strengths, as well as for identifying potential grant/funding opportunities using existing collaborative resources and independent research.
• Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in the use of technology, including social media
• Previous professional communications experience preferred
Engage with administration, faculty and students to identify noteworthy activities (e.g., people, projects and events) within the District and promote these activities to local and regional media (traditional and digital)
Develop and execute a strategy to engage students, parents,community members and local business, so as to increase their understanding of the District and its key strengths
Write press releases and articles to be shared with local newspapers, radio, television, and posting to District website
Develop and execute a strategy for engaging local businesses in the support of District students (internships) and activities.
• Identify grant opportunities that support the District’s educational vision, mission, and core values
Seek out grant opportunities from both governmental organizations and the private sector, using both existing available resources and independent research
Present these grant opportunities to the District Leadership Team for review and discussion
Write and/or oversee the preparation of grant applications
Monitor and document results from grants awarded
