Jewish Vocational Service, a non-profit workforce development organization, seeks a full-time, experienced Program Assistant. Under the direction of the Manager of CareerPath Now, the Program Assistant plays a key support role. Strong organizational skills, excellent computer skills and good communication skills are critical to success. This position requires strong attention to detail and follow through, as well as outstanding customer service skills. The Program Assistant is a part of a larger JVS team, all of whom are supporting the education, training and employment needs of clients. The Program Assistant is responsible for supporting the members of the CareerPath Now team as they deliver job search, job readiness, and education and training navigation services to a diverse set of clients. The Program Assistant will provide weekly coverage at the Welcome Center and the Student Support Center. The Program Assistant will be assisting with tracking client outcomes and providing reports to employers and funders. The Program Assistant is an active member of the CareerPath Now team, thereby equitably contributing to Team performance goals and working to support the overall mission and philosophy of JVS.
The ideal candidate will have:
· 2 years of office support/administrative work strongly preferred
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite skills
· Demonstrated skill in database programs
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
· Bi-lingual or language proficiency beyond English preferred
· Demonstrated ability to work independently
· High school diploma and 2+ years directly-related experience; or certificate/associates and 1+ years of directly related experience
Work hours are generally 9-5 Monday through Friday (full-time 35 hours/week).
