Clarification on Funding Charities that Lobby (February 14, 2005)
Charity Lobbying in the Public Interest (CPLI) recently received a clarification letter from the IRS regarding specific questions and scenarios relating to foundations making grants to organizations that engage in a range of lobbying, advocacy and election-related activities. The letter specifically explains that there is a wide range of permissible funding, including funding of organizations that lobby.
