Visits with foundation staff can often be the catalyst for or even the capstone to a successful grant seeking process. But visits can also be fraught with a host of complicated dynamics. What can development officers do to help set and manage the expectations for a visit? What roles can a development officer play before, during, or after a visit? How can development officers best prepare their organization's leadership or anyone else involved in a visit for successful cultivation and solicitation work?
